Wafi Hotel
Delivery manager for the client, WAFI Group, on the WAFI Hotel, an 800 million dirham project in Dubai.
Responsible for delivery of a 15 screen cinema which included F&B and concessions, a Magic planet, kid’s soft play area and commercial outlets. The project features VIP and MAX auditoriums including a high definition 4K Samsung screen, which is the first of its kind in the region. Due to the requirements of the high profile client, the sensitive nature of the project required the “wearing of multiple hats” to oversee the successful and transparent management and handover of high end auditoriums and retail outlets to the operator and tenants within rigid deadlines. My role therefore entailed acting in the capacity of associate construction manager for the main contractor as well as delivery manager for the client.
Ownership of scope and program ensuring timely handover of deliverables to a high standard; directed risk management and mitigation; monitoring and management of the lead architect, sub-consultants, sub-contractors
and suppliers; successfully directed a very dynamic design change and value engineering management system. I also directed and facilitated resource management and all aspects of the budget, ensured timely delivery within strict project constraints and carried out performance assessments, weekly dashboards, progress reviews and reporting on and to multiple stakeholders.




City Center Sharjah
I carried out my role in the capacity of Architectural Project Manager for the lead consultant, EDP Technical Services, which acted as the Contract Administrator and Lead Engineer on the City Center Sharjah Expansion and Refurbishment, for the client, Majid Al Futtaim Properties (MAFP). The 180 million AED project included refurbishment of the existing operating asset and construction of a two level 14,000 GLA retail expansion (consisting of 28 new retail units including 3 new F & B outlets, a 12 screen Vox Cinema, a multilevel car park and associated Infrastructure works). I managed a team of Architects and associated sub-consultants for the successful and timely project delivery to a high standard for all stakeholders. This included judicious harmonization of IFC design across architectural, structural, MEP, facade and related disciplines.








Kingdom Of Sheba, Dubai
The project, an 800 million AED development, included the construction of hotels and resorts located on the prime ocean and lagoon front land on the outer crescent of the Palm Jumeirah, Dubai. The design elegantly mimics the style of Yemeni art and architecture reflective of an ancient Arabian city rising from a lush, tropical oasis.
The design and construction of the resort included a collection of 34 luxury private villas, 3 blocks (G+12) consisting of apartments and townhomes, a 550 key Fairmont Kingdom of Sheba Hotel, namely the "Fairmont Heritage Place, a Souk and the first purpose built Fairmont Vacation Club in Dubai

The Eastern Mangroves (Anantara Hotel & Resort) – Abu Dhabi
The 180,000m2 project comprised a 223-room five-star business hotel, 52 luxury three-bedroom apartments and 169 serviced apartments, a leisure spa, dining and entertainment areas as well as retail outlets. Surrounding the facilities included a promenade and 30 berth marina and facilities. Hyder acted as lead consultant and architect on the project.

As Assistant Resident Engineer for the lead Architect, I was responsible for quality assurance management, design conflict mitigation and general monitoring and supervision of the site work and health and safety practices, ensuring that the contractor carried out their duties within the specification and contract documents.

Mirdif City Center, Dubai
Holfords Associates were the Architect of Record on the Mirdif City Center Mall, a 2.3 Billion AED development comprising of 196,000 m2 GLA which houses 465 retail stores, a 10-screen cinema and multi-storey carpark. The project being under the management of MAF Dalkia and MACE project managers for the client, Majid Al Futtaim.

As an ARE for the aforementioned Architect of Record, I was responsible for ensuring that the main contractor and all sub-contractors carried out their work safely and to the highest quality expected by our client.
I worked closely with client appointed project managers; the main contractor and sub-contractors; sub-consultant teams and Holfords' in-house architects to ensure that the project was built to the requirements stipulated within the contract documents.
Yas Waterworld, Abu Dhabi
Quality manager for the Yas Waterworld project on Yas Island in Abu Dhabi; a 600 Million dirham fast-track project.
I managed a team of twelve office-based staff and ten site-based engineers. I lead vetting and pre-qualification of subcontractors, suppliers & third party inspectors; team assignments across the QA/QC department and sub-contracted engineers; review and preparation of technical submittals and work inspection requests.
Also responsibe for directing site wide quality management; inspections and resolution of non-conformances and rejected works; all of which were maintained within the bounds of strict
KPI’s.
Due to the fast track nature of the project, meticulously managing the implementation of design changes was crucial. This tied into risk management and clash detection mitigation in collaboration with the engineering team.
I was also responsible for leading the planning and management of conformance to the UAE “Estidama”
sustainability framework which ensured the project met “Pearls Design System 1” rating (analogous to LEED).








Various Projects, United Kingdom
Early on in my career I was involved in a variety of refurbishments and new developments across hospitality, commercial and residential sectors. This included high rise hotels, university campuses, prisons and government facilities.
As one most recent example, before moving to the Middle East, I worked as a project engineer on a major residential housing development in Kesgrave, Ipswich in the United Kingdom. The project consisted of more than four hundred new-build houses and commercial facilities (40 million GBP).
I was responsible for site wide execution of work packages specifically related to first and second fix fit out of housing and multi-storey residential structures. I was responsible for manpower assessment, site activity allocation, budget and program / schedule management. This included assignment and execution of work packages across workforce and monitoring of work progress; identification of design conflicts and raising technical queries related to discrepancies found within contract documentation.
I managed suppliers and organization of equipment, plant and material deliveries, storage & installation. In addition, I assisted the site manager and site inspectors in ensuring timely close-out of non- conformances, quality control and safety violations as well as defect liability works.
Other notable projects included HM Prison Chelmsford Medical Center; Colchester University Quays Campuses; Tollgate Clinic & Medical Center, Colchester and Refurbishment of Trinity College, Cambridge.
